allergen.ai aims to simplify allergen identification, using AI image recognition to identify food, ingredients, and cross reference them with an allergen database from a single photo upload. Designed with user convenience in mind, this experimental tool minimizes the reliance on possibly uninformed food providers.
Process:
- 1. The initial step was to research allergen information from a government directory. FDA.GOV
- 2. Used the researched information to create a database using Firebase DB which helped to structure the next steps.
- 3. LogMeal provided a well documented AI food recognition API and was tested using PostMan and the Firebase database before coding.
- 4. Javascript, React, & Radix-UI came together to create a functioning, LIVE, website!
